personalfinanceapp.net earns affiliate commissions when you sign up for personal finance apps via links on this site. This means we receive a payment from the app vendor when you become a paying subscriber via our referral link.
What this means for our reviews
- Apps are scored on a 10-point scale based on our standardised testing criteria (see methodology). The score is not adjusted based on commission rate.
- Apps with no affiliate programme (Actual Budget, Firefly III, Beancount) are reviewed without commission incentive and included when relevant for reader segments.
- We do not accept payment for placement, guaranteed positive coverage, or "partner content" that we write.
- Vendors do not see or approve reviews before publication.

UK regulatory note
Personal finance app reviews covering categorisation and cash-flow features are generally outside the FCA's s21 financial-promotion regime (information, not invitation/inducement to enter a regulated agreement). We do not publish affiliate CTAs for apps with credit, investment, or mortgage features without confirming our s21 position first.
